COMMERCE, Texas (Softball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (6-11, 0-6 LSC) rallied from behind in both games but the resilient Javelinas fell just short as Texas A&M University-Commerce (16-5, 3-3 LSC) earned two victories Friday at John Cain Family Softball Field, 10-9 and 3-2.

Victoria Schoonard-Saborio finished the doubleheader 3-for-6 with three runs scored from the leadoff spot.
Haley Boyett scored three runs in game one,
Lauren Oatman drove in three and
Rachael Longoria hit two doubles and added two RBI.

Game OneThe Javelinas struck first with two runs in the first after a double steal scored Schoonard-Saborio, who led off the game with a walk, and Longoria's double plated Boyett for a 2-0 lead.

Commerce took an 8-2 lead after plating eight in the fourth on five hits.

Texas A&M-Kingsville responded with three runs in the fifth after Schoonard-Saborio and
Roxy Chapa led off the frame with a walk and Boyett's infield single loaded the bases. A bases clearing double by Oatman cut TAMUK's deficit to 8-5.

The Lions tacked on a run in the fifth, but the Javelina offense put up a crooked number on the scoreboard in the sixth, scoring four runs to tie the game at 8-8.
Lindsey Angelico plated
Myrissa Sanchez, who reached on an error, and Schoonard-Saborio followed with an RBI single. Longoria's second double of the game brought in another run and
Sarah Gilbert's reached on an error to tie the ballgame.

A&M-Commerce walked off with a run in the seventh.

Gilbert (2-4) struck out three in 3.1 innings and allowed four unearned runs. Brittany Woolridge (6-2) earned the win after allowing two unearned runs in 2.0 innings.

Game TwoBoyett drove in a run but Texas A&M-Kingsville fell to the Lions, 3-2, in game two.
Michaela Huebotter (1-2) was charged with the loss after striking out three in 4.0 innings.
Karri Smith threw 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Woolridge (7-2) picked up the W after 6.0 innings of two-run ball and Katie Dean tossed a perfect seventh to pick up her second save of the season.

Commerce scored two runs in the first and added a run in the second for a 3-0 lead. A sacrifice by Angelico moved Sanchez into scoring position and a two-out single by Boyett cut TAMUK's deficit to 3-1. Kingsville added a run on an error in the fifth to make it a 3-2 game but the Hogs could not complete the comeback.

The series resumes Saturday in a double dip, beginning at 1 p.m.
