KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (10-17) squares off against another Heartland Conference foe in Lubbock Christian University (26-7) at the Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field. The first pitch of the three-game series will be on March 18
th at 1 p.m. followed by game two at 3 p.m.
Lubbock Christian is on a 10-game winning streak.
The Javelinas return to their home field where they are 10-9 this season and post a 3-3 record against Heartland Conference clubs.
Victoria Schoonard-Saborio and
Roxy Chapa have team high batting averages of .307 and .306, respectively.
Chapa has 22 RBIs and leads the team with eight doubles this season.
Karri Smith is 3-5 in the circle in 2016 season with a 3.76 ERA in 63.1 innings pitched.
The Chaps feature two batters who bat over .400 in Morgan Colburn (.448) and Molly Davison (.443). Colburn has 14 homers in the 2016 season and has 39 RBIs.
Lubbock Christian also have five batters over .300 including Lindzi Clemmer who has a .349 batting average with a team high of 109 appearances at the plate and 12 stolen bases.
Katera Eltsosie leads the Chaps bullpen with a 14-3 record and a 2.96 ERA. Eltsosie has pitched 103.1 innings this season with 89 punchouts. Katlyn Holmes has a 10-2 record in the circle this season, pitching in 72.2 innings with an ERA of 3.84.
