KINGSVILLE, Texas (Men's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (10-13, 2-10 LSC) had the tough task of taking on one of the most efficient teams in NCAA Division II and No. 22/21 Midwestern State (19-5, 8-4 LSC) was able to defeat the Javelinas, 81-63, Wednesday evening at the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

Trey Sumpter came off the bench with 13 points on 5-8 shooting and the forward added five rebounds and three steals.
Troy Jones matched Sumpter by going 5-8 for 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
DJ Weathers scored 12 points and
Jamar Goodwin added 10, and
Cris Boleware dished out six assists and swiped three passes.

The Javelinas trailed 41-29 at halftime behind Weathers' nine points. Boleware had five assists in the opening 20 minutes and
Robert Stevenson registered three blocked shots in the first stanza.

In the second half, Midwestern State shot 48.4 percent from the floor, led by Khapri Alston to defeat Texas A&M-Kingsville, 81-63.

The Javelinas head to Lawton, Okla. to take on Cameron University, currently the top team in the Lone Star Conference.
