KINGSVILLE, Texas (Men's Basketball) –
The balanced Javelina attack led Texas A&M University-Kingsville (9-5, 1-2 LSC) to its fifth home victory Wednesday evening as the Hogs downed Eastern New Mexico University (4-11, 0-3 LSC), 74-61, in the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

DJ Weathers finished with 18 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals, Jamar Goodwin came off the bench with 14 points and seven rebounds and Will West added 12 points and four rebounds in the victory. Texas A&M-Kingsville is now 5-1 at home.

"It is extremely important for us to establish home court advantage and give Javelina faithful a winning team," said head coach Johnny Estelle. "The band was exceptional tonight and we fed off the crowd. Our guys played extremely well and I have to credit their mentality in attacking all game. Marcus Frazier played big minutes with Cris (Boleware) going down and Elliot Taylor established a tough inside presence. Kyre Edwards came in and hit two big three-pointers. The list goes on and on."

Taylor finished with eight points and three blocked shots and Frazier and Edwards combined for 15 points.

The Javelinas shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the opening half to take a 10-point lead into the locker room. Seven of Weathers' points and four of his assists came in the opening stanza.

The bench scoring continued in the second half with the Javelinas clinching their third consecutive victory over the Greyhounds.

For Eastern, Lawrence Domingo led all scorers with 25 points on 11-18 shooting and nine rebounds. Javandon Staves came off the bench with 11 points.

The Javelinas head to Canyon to take on West Texas A&M University on Saturday.
