KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) – Texas A&M-Kingsville (14-19, 5-11 LSC) hosts Texas Woman's (17-18-1, 9-6-1 LSC) this weekend at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field for a four-game Lone Star Conference series. Friday's doubleheader begins at 5 p.m. and the first pitch on Saturday will take place at 1 p.m.

All-Time Series vs. TWUTexas Woman's leads the all-time series 40-30-1. The Pioneers have won 10 straight and 13 of the last 14. The Blue and Gold's last victory was on April 22, 2011 at home by the score of 7-2. In games played at Hubert Field, TWU has a 17-16 advantage.
Scouting Texas A&M-KingsvilleAfter going 5-for-7 against St. Edward's on Wednesday,
Rachael Longoria took over the team lead in batting average at .366.
Loren Donaldson is hitting .356 and is tied with
Valerie Ramirez for first on the squad with four home runs and 18 RBI. Also batting over .300 are
Haley Boyett (.311) and
Karri Smith (.328).
Boyett goes into the weekend with team-highs in runs scored (23) and stolen bases (11).
Jaeleen Castro is second on the Javelinas with 13 RBI and four steals. Also plating double-digit runs this year (12) is Boyett and Longoria.
In the circle,
Carlie Clark (5-3) sports a staff-low ERA of 3.66 in 57.1 innings. She has struck out 46 and opponents are hitting just .266 off her. Smith is tied for second in the Lone Star Conference with 13 complete games. For the season, she is 5-10 with a 5.54 ERA in 101.0 innings and staff best 47 strikeouts. Coming into the series with a 4-5 record, 6.52 ERA and 27 strikeouts is
Bella Rosas. The freshman has started seven games and completed three of them.
Scouting Texas Woman'sThe duo of Nicole Nordie (.449) and Kendra Sancet (.443) are second and third in the conference in batting average, respectively. Sancet, a finalist for the inaugural Schutt Sports/NFCA Division II National Player of the Year, leads the Pioneers in home runs (11), RBI (43) and doubles (15). Also batting over .400 this season is Laura Mabary at .403.
Second on the team in homers is Alyssa Galaz with six. Tylia Sylestine and Nordie have smashed five dingers each. Both Galaza and Nordie have plated 28 runs apiece while Mabary comes into the weekend with 24 RBI.
On the base paths, Tealey Farquhar leads the squad with eight steals. Second with four swipes are Mabary and Nordie. The only other players with multiple steals this year are Katy Stephens and Galaz, both with two.
Bailee Wortham sports a staff-low ERA of 4.75 in 70.2 innings. She is 5-3 with two complete games and 27 strikeouts. Making 29 appearances, 17 of them starts, is Tori Bice. She is 10-9 with four saves, a 5.21 ERA and leads the Pioneers with eight complete games, 119.2 innings thrown and 75 strikeouts.
Katie Hickey has one save this season but is 1-4 with an 8.88 ERA in just 32.1 innings. Rounding out the staff is Nordie (1-2, 10.50 ERA) but she has thrown just 9.1 frames spanning seven games, five of them starts.
Season Split vs. SEUFor only the second time since 2011, TAMUK split the season series with St. Edward's. The Hilltoppers won the first game of each the two twinbills the teams played and the Javelinas took the second contest. The last time the Blue and Gold split the season series against SEU was in 2013.
Clark Named LSC Pitcher of the WeekWith her performance last week on the rubber, Clark was named the Lone Star Conference's Pitcher of the Week. She went 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA, 13 strikeouts, three complete games and one shutout. It is the first weekly conference award for the sophomore.
Sweep of ZiasTexas A&M-Kingsville entered into the hunt for a spot in the LSC Tournament with a sweep of Eastern New Mexico. It was the first time the Javelinas took every game in a series in conference play since March 12-13, 2010. That series also took place at Hubert Field against the Zias.
Home Sweet Home Part 1The Javelinas love to play games at Hubert Field. This season they are 11-1 after sweeping the four-game series from ENMU. TAMUK is batting .370 and averaging 5.7 runs a game. On the rubber, Javelina pitchers have combined for a 2.36 ERA, 65 strikeouts and a .275 opponents' batting average.
Home Sweet Home Part 2Clark has dominated in the circle at Hubert Field in 2015. In six starts, she is 5-0 with five complete games, two shutouts, a 1.41 ERA and 38 strikeouts.
K-TownClark has been a strikeout machine at home this season. Of her 46 strikeouts, 38 of them have come in the circle at Hubert Field. In the season opener against Texas A&M International, she struck out eight. She followed with nine versus Huston-Tillotson, including the first three batters of the game on the minimum nine pitches, and another eight against Texas A&M-Commerce.
Castro's Plunked MarkBack on March 13 in the second game of the day at Cameron, Castro was hit by a pitch to reach base. With that plunk, she was hit for the 23rd time in her career to move into sole possession of first place on the school's all-time list. The previous record holder was Kenna Gipson who played for the Javelinas in the 2005 and 2006 seasons.
Winning FebruaryTexas A&M-Kingsville completed February with a 6-5 record. It was the first time they have finished the first month of the season with a winning record since 2009 when they went 14-6. The 2012 Javelinas came close, going 8-8 in the first month of the season.
Bombs AwayTAMUK blasted four homers in the final game of the Southeastern Regional Invitational against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The home run total is the most by the Javelinas in a game since also hitting four at Eastern New Mexico on March 25, 2011.
