Hunter Lehman signed a national letter of intent to join the Javelinas in 2016.
Lehman becomes the third member of the 2015 class, joining
Michael Box and
Ruben Almaguer.
A mainstay behind the plate for Blinn this season, Lehman is hitting .325 with two home runs, nine doubles, seven stolen bases, 17 RBI and 20 runs and on the mound, he has punched out six batters in 6.1 innings.
A pivotal member of the Buccaneers squad that made an appearance in last year's NJCAA World Series, he was named to the academic all-conference team and drove in six runs and scored eight.
A three-year varsity letterwinner for Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas, he hit .326 as a senior with nine doubles, three home runs and 19 RBI and went 7-1 with 97 strikeouts and a 1.48 earned run average on the bump, earning district Most Valuable Player honors after setting the school record for most strike outs in a single season. A first team all-district honoree in 2012 after batting .351 with 11 doubles and 17 RBI as a junior, he earned four wins and punched out 69 hitters.
Lehman played three seasons for Line Drive Academy in Buda, Texas, posting a 25-3 record for the club team.

High School: Earned three letters for Lehman High School in Kyle, Texas… 2013 district MVP… 2012 first team all-district… 2011 all-district honorable mention… team competed in bi-district playoffs in 2010-11… set a school record for strikeouts in a single season with 97… in his senior season, he belted three home runs and nine doubles to go with a .326 batting average and 19 RBI… on the mound, he was 7-1 with a 1.48 earned run average and 97 punch outs in 2013.
Club: Played three years for the Line Drive Academy in Buda, Texas… in 2013, the team finished with a record of 25-3.
Personal: Son of Julius and Laura Lehman… his cousin Chris Hill played baseball for Texas State University… plans on pursuing a career as a wildlife biologist… chose TAMUK because of the well-respected wildlife program and the baseball team's winning tradition… he admires the U.S. Soldiers because they are putting themselves in harm's way to protect him while he chases his dreams… intends to major in wildlife management.
