Game 26: @TAMUKWBB Closes Out Season at Angelo State

Final game of the 2014-15 season for the Javelinas


 
KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team (0-25, 0-15 LSC) plays their final game of the season on Saturday at Angelo State (8-17, 3-12 LSC). Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Junell Center.
 
In the all-time series, the Rambelles have won 43 of 71 meetings including a 58-45 win this season in Kingsville. The Javelinas last win came on Mar. 1, 2014 in the regular season finale at home. They have lost seven straight on the road to ASU with the last win coming on Jan. 25, 2007.
 
Micah Weaver enters the game with a team-high 11.5 ppg and 80.0 free throw percentage. She also contributed 4.0 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.1 spg. Lauren Jay is coming off her second career double-double as she increased her scoring average to 9.8 a contest while also grabbing a team best 6.6 rpg. Her 33 steals are the most on the squad this season.
 
Helping set them up for their baskets are Ashley Viera (2.1 apg) and Tessa Ramirez (1.8 apg).
 
Kyra Bauer adds 4.2 rpg while being one of only two players to start every game this season. Off the bench, Ope Ibrahim grabs 4.1 rpg and has blocked a team-high 15 shots.
 
The Rambelles are 2-2 in their last four games with both victories coming at home. Those two victories helped seal a spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament that will take place next week.
 
Jasmine Caston (12.9 ppg) and Jackie Patterson (10.8 ppg) were the top two leading scorers on the team before being dismissed. Among the active roster, Amanda Weaver is leading the way at 9.7 ppg while nailing 42 three-pointers.
 
Diamalises Rivera contributed 9.5 ppg while making a team-high 52.2 percent from the field. Adding 24 made treys is KeAnna Kelly.
 
The only player to appear in every game for ASU is Michelle Rosewell. She has started 21 of them and averages 2.4 ppg, 2.2 rpg and 2.1 apg.
