PORTALES, N.M. (Men's Basketball) – Two programs search for their first Lone Star Conference victories on Thursday as Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-9, 0-2 LSC) heads to Eastern New Mexico University (7-8, 0-2 LSC) for an 8:30 p.m. CT bout inside Greyhound Arena.
 
The matchup pits first year head coach Johnny Estelle against interim head coach Stott Carter, who is in his first year as interim at ENMU. Leading the charge for the Javelinas is junior forward Troy Jones, who is in the midst of 10 consecutive double digit scoring contests. Jones leads the club in scoring (14.9 overall and 15.5 in two LSC games), rebounds (7.3) and field goal percentage (67.7). His field goal percentage tops the conference and ranks sixth in NCAA Division II.
 
Jamar Goodwin, Jordan Jahr and DJ Weathers add 11.2, 10.7 and 9.8 points, respectively, while Goodwin is also averaging 1.6 steals and 0.9 blocks per contest.
 
For the Greyhounds, John Gilliam is averaging 15.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

SERIES HISTORY
Despite falling in both meetings in 2014, the Javelinas have historically dominated against Eastern New Mexico, defeating the Greyhounds in 40 of their 65 meetings.
 
FAMILIAR FOES
Two Eastern New Mexico student-athletes may be familiar to Texas A&M-Kingsville fans as Seth Bailey and Daren McCloud lettered as members of the 2014 football team. Bailey earned second team all-region honors as a linebacker.
