Box Score KINGSVILLE, Texas— In a rematch of last season's NCAA South Central Region Championship game, the Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team dropped a 7-1 decision to St. Edward's on Tuesday night at Nolan Ryan Field.

The Javelinas (13-10) fell behind when the Hilltoppers (17-9) scored a run both the first and second inning. The first inning run was scored when Gable Whitacre reached on an error by the left fielder and was driven in when Wes Koenig hit a sacrifice fly to center field. The second run was scored when Ryan Dolezal singled up the middle to drive in Kevin Mayo.

Brian Frazier scored Kingsville's lone run when he homered to start the bottom of the fifth. In his first start, Frazier accounted for three of the four hits the Javelinas had for the night.

In the end, St. Edward's overwhelmed Kingsville scoring a run in the sixth and three runs in the ninth.

Ryan Benitez (0-1) suffered the loss for the Javelinas. He pitched five innings for three runs with two earned on five hits.

Dalton Brown picks up the win for the Hilltoppers hurled six innings for one run with one earned on four hits. Grayson Pratt picked up his first save with two innings pitched, no hits, and no runs entering the game with the score 4-1.

Kingsville will head to San Angelo to face the Angelo State Ram in a four game series on Friday, first pitch set for 6 p.m.
