SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Men's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (3-3) continues its road trip with a rematch against St. Mary's University (2-3) on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena and a nonconference tilt at Texas A&M International University (3-3) at the TAMIU Kinesiology and Convocation Building on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
The Javelinas went 1-2 last week despite its furious comeback versus No. 25 Our Lady of the Lake University. Against the Rattlers on Nov. 19,
Don Thomas and
Troy Jones combined for 36 points en route to a 76-71 victory over St. Mary's. The Hogs are 14-4 all-time against the Dustdevils, but TAMIU swept both matchups against Texas A&M-Kingsville last season.
Jamar Goodwin paces the squad with 16.5 points per game and the newcomer is shooting 48 percent from three-point range. Off the bench,
DJ Weathers provides much of the scoring punch, averaging 14.5 points and the combo guard is an outstanding 16-of-17 from the free throw line. Jones and
Jordan Jahr also average double figures and pull down 13.5 rebounds/contest.
For the Rattlers, Marvin Whitt averages 14.2 points per game and Patrick Carlson's 15.8 points/contest lead the Dustdevils.
TAMIU returns to Texas after splitting action in the Colorado Mesa University Holiday Inn-Airport Thanksgiving Classic, while St. Mary's hosted its annual Thanksgiving Classic and defeated Lone Star Conference member Midwestern State University, 63-50, on Nov. 30.
