KINGSVILLE, Texas (Volleyball) – Stephanie Johns hit .417 and finished with 12 kills and three blocks and as a team, Texas A&M University-Kingsville (15-10) posted 41 kills and 63 digs to defeat Texas A&M International University (3-17) in straight sets, 25-10, 25-18, 25-15, on Tuesday evening inside the Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
With the victory, the Javelinas earned a season sweep over the Dustdevils and are now 11-7 all-time versus TAMIU.

Valarie Moehrig each recorded two service aces and
Krystal Faison, Bukowski and
Anyssa Matheson shined defensive with two blocks apiece. Faison and
Brett Zaccardo reached double figures with 18 digs and 11 digs, respectively. As a team, the Hogs hit .260 and held the Dustdevils to a .000 attack percentage.
Texas A&M-Kingsville stormed to a 9-1 start in the opening set highlighted by Bukowski's two aces, Johns' two kills and blocks by Washington and Johns. After dominating its way to a 25-10 victory in set one, the Javelinas led 11-4 early in the second set before a rally by TAMIU brought the contest to an 18-18 tie. However, the Hogs scored the sets final seven points to clinch the second set win, 25-18.
TAMUK hit .308 in set three and defeated the Dustdevils 25-15 to earn its fifth straight-set win of the season.
"After losing at home this past weekend, it was great to come out the way we did tonight," said Johns. "It lit a fire under us and hopefully, we can carry the momentum heading into the final stage of the season."
The Hogs continue play this week at Texas Southern University on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m., A&M-Commerce on Friday, Oct. 31 and Texas Woman's University on Saturday, Nov. 1.
