SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Volleyball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (13-8) step away from Lone Star Conference play and head to St. Mary's University (8-10) looking to sweep the season series on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. inside Bill Greehey Arena.
Earlier this season, the Javelinas dominated its way to a 3-1 victory over the Rattlers (Sept. 16). The Blue and Gold recorded a .343 hitting percentage, 61 kills and five aces in the 25-13, 22-25, 25-10, 25-19 win.
Nearly upsetting West Texas A&M University on Saturday, the Javelinas split their weekend battles, earning a thrilling five-set win over Eastern New Mexico University on Friday.
Kelsey Washington posted a season-high 23 kills and 15 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Eight of her kills came in sets four and five and the Cuero, Texas native recorded a .348 attack percentage.
Ashley Bukowski added 17 kills, 10 digs, two assisted blocks and hit .364. Johns registered 11 kills and eight total blocks and freshman
Casey Klobedans finished with seven kills (.412), 53 assists and four blocks.
The resilient Hogs added 13.0 team blocks. Defensively,
Brett Zaccardo and
Krystal Faison reached double figures with 30 digs and 12 digs, respectively. The following day, Washington finished with 15 kills and three blocks,
Ashley Tipps added three blocks and Klobedans registered 36 assists and three blocks.
