KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team will seek to snap a 3-game losing streak Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court as Cameron comes to town for the IBC Pack the House game.
The Javelinas enter the contest with a 6-9 record and are 1-4 in the Lone Star Conference. Cameron has an identical record of 1-4 in the LSC. The Aggies are 9-6 overall.
Kingsville's losing streak has seen it play the top three teams in the current standings. Two of the losses came to West Texas A&M and Tarleton State which were both ranked in the top 10 at the time the Javelinas played them. The third loss was to Eastern New Mexico. The three teams are a combined 11-2 in the conference.
Following last week's action, Kingsville sits 15
th in the nation with 11.9 steals a game. Lindsey
Mahone is 59
th in the nation with 2.4 a game. The Javelina defense will get a boost as
Rosalie Cutri continues to come back from injury. Cutri was leading the LSC with 3.0 steals a game when she got hurt.
Mahone leads the team with 13.1 points and is sixth in the LSC with 6.6 rebounds.
Ashley Viera is second with 10.7, while Cutri is third at 10.4.
Cameron is led by Jazzmine Robinson, who is scoring 12.4 points a game, and Chelsea Stump, who averages 10.3. Lacy Reinke is 10
th in the conference with 6.3 rebounds. She is first with 1.1 blocks a contest.
