KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's and men's basketball teams will welcome Eastern New Mexico and over 2,000 area elementary school students to Kingsville Hampton Inn Court Wednesday morning when they host their second annual Live the Dream promotion. The event is sponsored by HEB.
The Javelina women will take to the court at 10 a.m. with the men's game to follow. Between the two games, staff members from the University's Special Programs department will speak to the students in attendance about the importance of education, and yes they can "live the dream" and attend college but they must start thinking about it now.
Speaking will be Associate Vice President of Student Access Dr. Mary Gonzalez, Martin Chapa and Dynyel Miller.
The Kingsville women enter the game with a 6-7 overall record and are 1-2 in the Lone Star Conference. The Zias of Eastern New Mexico sit 3-8 on the season with a 1-1 mark in the league. On the men's side, the Javelinas are currently 5-9 on the season with a 0-2 league record. The ENMU men are 6-7 with a 0-2 record.
