
KINGSVILLE, Texas – Ali Insell had 25 digs to lead the Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team Saturday afternoon but it wasn’t enough as the Javelinas fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-17) to Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday.
With the loss, the Javelinas drop to 6-4 overall and lost their first two Lone Star Conference matches of the season. The Lions meanwhile improve to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Insell’s 25 digs were a match-best for either side. Dedra Brown led the hosts with 10 kills, but the Javelinas struggled with their hitting in the opening set with a negative attack percentage before finishing with a .135 hitting percentage.
Commerce meanwhile hit .222 in the match. Breanne Snyder had a match high 15 kills and Rachel Robertson added 10. Jordan Neal had a match-high 34 assists. Three Lions had two aces apiece, while Kingsville had two as a team.
The Javelinas head to Oklahoma next Friday to face Cameron at 7 p.m. before facing Midwestern State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wichita Falls.
