Garcia's 24 Points not Enough in Loss

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – Despite a career high 24 points off the bench from freshman Brandy Garcia (Edinburg/Edinburg North HS), the Texas A&M-Kingsville women’s basketball team could not overcome 28 turnovers in a 73-54 loss at Lone Star Conference South Division rival Angelo State on Wednesday night. (box score)

The Belles (13-8, 6-3) converted the 28 Javelina turnovers into 32 points while committing only 14 turnovers. The Javelinas (3-18, 1-8) were beset by long stretches of committing turnovers without scoring. They began each half by committing five turnovers before scoring.

Midway through the second half, the Javelinas had pulled to within six points at 48-42 after a three-pointer by Garcia with 10:17 remaining in the game.
