The loss dropped the Javelinas to 13-14 on the year and snapped their consecutive winning seasons streak at six.
In the first half, both teams struggled to score as the Hoggies shot 33.3 percent from the field and the Greyhounds (10-16, 5-7) hit on only 37.9 percent of their shots. In the second half the Hounds connected on 57.7 percent of their field goals, including a 4-for-5 performance from three-point land.
Reggie Nelson led the Greyhounds with 21 points as he went 4-for-6 from three-point range and also knocked down 5-of-6 from the foul line. Victor Reid added 12 points while Equs Darby added eight points and nine rebounds. The Hounds shot 47.3 percent from the field, made 8-of-20 from three-point range and were 10-for-15 at the foul line. They pulled down 10 more rebounds than the Javelinas.
The Javelinas shot 38.0 percent for the game and made only 1-of-13 three-point attempts. They connected on 17-of-25 from the foul line. Flavio Milam (Killeen/Ellison HS) led the team with 16 points and seven rebounds in his final game as a Javelina. Naquawn Lee (San Antonio/East Central HS) added 12 points while Royce Gaye (Houston/Klein HS) added nine points and four steals.
