Javelinas Drop Twinbill At St. Mary's

San Antonio -- The Javelinas couldn't get the offense going in the first game and couldn't stop St. Mary's in the second game as the #23 ranked Rattlers swept Texas A&M-Kingsville 6-0 and 9-5.

The loss dropped the Javelinas to 22-26 overall.

Cassie Anderson and Jasmine Ross had the only hits for the Javelinas in game one.

In the nightcap, Shaun Bryan and Julia Canales (H.M. King) each had two hits apiece, but the Rattlers scored all nine of their runs in the first four innings.

Bryan singled to drive in the first run of the game to give the Javelinas a 1-0 lead, but St. Mary's responded with three runs in the bottom of the first.

The Javelinas had their best inning of the day with four runs in the fifth, but trailed 9-1 entering the inning.

A&M-Kingsville scored all four of its runs after two outs and did it with only one hit, a two-run single by Canales.

The Javelinas have the weekend off before hosting nationally ranked Angelo State next Friday to begin the final home series of the season.
