The Javelinas are now 12-13 overall and 5-1 in Lone Star Conference South Division play.

Rigamonti (Victoria St. Joseph's) allowed only one run on four singles, striking out five and walking just two.

The Javelinas scored first in the top of the third inning on a run-scoring, two-out single by Canales (H.M. King).

The Lady Buffs tied the game with a run in the bottom of the inning, but the Javelinas put together a two-out rally in the fifth to take the lead for good.

After Cassie Anderson and Jasmine Ross were retired to start the inning, Meisha Patterson and Shaun Bryan both singled.  Canales again came through, singling an 0-1 pitch to right center to give the Javelinas a 3-1 lead.

Rigamonti retired 12 of the final 13 hitters she faced to even her record at 8-8.  She has allowed only one earned run in 26 innings of league play.

Canales drove in all five runs for the Javelinas during the series and raised her average to .365 with a team-leading 15 runs batted in.

A&M-Kingsville hosts first-place Abilene Christian next weekend at Hubert Field.
