Central Oklahoma won game two 7-3.

The Javelinas are now 12-9 overall and 8-6 in the Lone Star Conference.

Chase Myrick extended his hitting streak to 21 games in the opener by going 2-for-5 with two RBI.  Owen Weaver also belted out three hits and scored three runs.

The Javelinas out-hit the Bronchos 14-8, the fourth time in the last five games they have registered double-digit hit games.

The Hogs scored four in the third, keyed by Mettlach's three-run home run to left center, and added three more in the fourth to build a 7-2 lead.

But the Bronchos got three in the fourth and two in the seventh off starter Bobby Gonsoulin to tie the game.

Erwin entered the game with the score tied at 7-7 and two men on and two out in the bottom of the seventh.  He retired the only hitter he faced to end the inning, retired the side in order in the eighth and allowed only a leadoff bunt single in the ninth before retiring the side to end the game and earn his first win of the season.

The Hogs broke open the 7-7 tie in the eighth thanks to a leadoff single by Mettlach, a run-scoring single by Myrick and a run-scoring squeeze bunt by Taylor Everett.

In the ninth, Weaver started the inning with a walk, freshman Adrian Williams (Victoria Memorial) doubled to drive in Weaver and scored on another squeeze bunt by James Brown (Corpus Christi King).

In the nightcap, the Hogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to grab a 3-2 lead, but the Bronchos scored two in the fourth and three in the sixth to earn the split.

Myrick's hitting streak came to an end after he went 0-for-4.

Weaver doubled to open the second inning and scored on a single by Thomas Miller, but the inning ended on a bases loaded double play.

The Hogs took the lead in the fourth with a pair of runs.  Wiley Crowson singled after a walk to Miller.  Miller would score on a throwing error and Crowson scored on a double by Brown.

The Hogs couldn't get anything going over the final three innings as they managed just a single and a walk.

Tim Jones (2-2) took the loss after working the first five innings.

The two teams wrap-up the four-game series with a Sunday afternoon twinbill.
