 Arkadelphia, Ark. – The Javelina softball team dropped a heartbreaker in the seventh inning to Texas Woman’s University and then lost a slugfest to host Henderson State at the HSU Softball Classic.  Game 1 box.  Game 2 box.
 Arkadelphia, Ark. – The Javelina softball team dropped a heartbreaker in the seventh inning to Texas Woman’s University and then lost a slugfest to host Henderson State at the HSU Softball Classic.  Game 1 box.  Game 2 box.
   The Javelinas lost a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh in falling to TWU 4-3 and the lost a 9-7 lead after allowing seven runs in the sixth in a 15-9 defeat to Henderson State.
   The defeats dropped the Javelinas’ record to 7-8.
      The Javelinas were no-hit through the first five innings of the opener before Ma-Lia Guerra singled and scored on an error to cut the TWU lead to 2-1 in the sixth.
   Jessika Cantu (Tuloso-Midway) and Ariel Lichtenberger (Alice) then hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the seventh to give the Javelinas a 3-2 lead.
   But the Pioneers scored two runs after two outs in the bottom of the inning for the victory.
   Henderson State hit seven home runs in the nightcap to spoil multiple hit games by Cassie Anderson, Meisha Patterson, Shaun Bryan and Ma-Lia Guerra (Falfurrias).
   Bryan had two doubles among her three hits.
