Previous: Barnes joins the Javelinas after playing for the New Mexico Military Institute for the past two seasons...He was a first team all-Western Junior College Athletic Conference selection during his time NMMI...In his final season at the school, Barnes averaged 17.3 points per game and finished fifth in scoring and first in free throw percentage at 84 percent in the conference.
High School: Barnes prepped at Michigan power Southfield High School for coach Gary Teasley...He helped the team reach the state semifinals in each of his final two seasons...Barnes was named to the All-Oakland County team as a senior.
Personal: Barnes is the son of Doreese Barnes and has a sister Dominique Barnes. He is studying communications.
