Matt McGouran is in his second season on Johnny Estelle's staff and spent his first year in Kingsville helping Estelle lead the Javelinas to a 15-3 mark and a program-record .833 win percentage. The Hogs also matched a school record by winning 11 consecutive games at one point and put four players on the All-Lone Star Conference roster.
McGouran arrived in Kingsville after spending four years at the University of Houston, where he earned a degree in Sport Administration, served as a sports marketing intern in the athletic department and handled internal operations for the Houston Cougars men's basketball program. In the latter roll, his responsibilities included assisting with game day operations, compiling recruiting information and serving as a liaison between the men's basketball and the offices of compliance and business, as well as the athletic director's office. McGouran's experience also includes serving as a volunteer coach at the Texas Boy's Basketball Minicamps in the summer of 2020 and working as a volunteer at the 2016 Final Four.
