Derek Alleman

Derek Alleman is in his first year as Assistant Coach for the Javelina Men's Basketball team after being hired in 2025.

Before taking the role of Assistant Coach in Kingsville, Alleman was the Assistant Coach at Kilgore College during the 2024-25 season where he would help guide the Rangers to a 15-17 record. Alleman would help guide a pair of Rangers to first-team All-Region and first-team All-Conference honors as well.

Prior to his stint in Kilgore, Alleman served in a similar role at Division III East Texas Baptist University for four seasons, guiding the Tigers to a 67-37 record. ETBU also reach the American Southwest Conference Tournament three times, winning the tournament in the 2022-23 season as well as making the NCAA DIII National Tournament.

In 2019-20, he was a part of the coaching staff at Crescent City Christian School that led the team to the Louisiana Division State championship. Prior to Crescent City, he was on ETBU Head Coach Chris Lovell's staff at Bossier Parish Community College as the Cavaliers reached the NJCAA nation's top 25 for the first time in 20 seasons. He also would send six players onto scholarship schools at the NCAA Division I and NAIA levels. He has also coached at Albany High School (2012-13), Christian Home Educators Fellowship High School (2013-15), and The Church Academy (2017-18). At the AAU level, he has coached the Mardi Gras Gators, Team Shockaz, and Louisiana Supreme 16U.

Derek received his Master's of Arts Degree in Teaching from Eat Texas Baptist University in May of 2022. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration at Southeastern Louisiana University in 2011. He went to high school at Live Oak High School in Denham Springs, La.
