San Jose State: Earned two letters as a member of the Spartan football team in 2007 and 2011… started 11 games in the offensive line as a true freshman, the most by a SJSU student-athlete since freshman eligibility was reinstated in 1972…moved from defensive line to offensive line during 2007 preseason camp… was in the starting lineup for the season opener at Arizona State (9/1)… ended up starting 11 out of 12 games… Spartans passed for 3,172 yards and averaged 264.3 yards a game passing… prior to his arrival, no first-time San Jose State freshman started more than seven games in the offensive line.
 
High School: Attended San Leandro High School in San Leandro, Cali… was rated No. 19 in the 2007 Contra Costa Times Cream of the Crop listing of area players… the San Francisco Chronicle 2006 first-team All-Metro choice and the Hayward Area Athletic League Defensive Player of the Year… credited with 42 tackles and four quarterback sacks as a senior… also played offensive tackle and was a reserve placekicker… four-sport letter winner also lettered in basketball, wrestling and track and field.
