Eddie Moten

Eddie Moten joined the staff ahead of the 2018 season as a graduate assistant and cornerbacks coach.

The 2020 season was cut short due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic as Isaiah Jacobs and Derrion Warner snagged an interception each in the loss to UT Permian Basin on March 20 at home.

2019 saw Josh Wilson (cornerback) picked up an All-LSC honorable mention award as he ended the season with 55 tackles, 36 solo and three for loss, and added two pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

Jordan Semanat (cornerback) came home with an All-LSC honorable mention citation in his first year as a member of the Blue and Gold as he finished with 11 pass breakups and three interceptions helped him tie for fifth in the LSC in passes defense as he returned a pick-six against Western Oregon early in the year.

Moten was a former standout defensive back for Texas A&M-Kingsville from 2002-03, was a two-time All-LSC first team selection, the 2003 LSC Defensive Back of the Year and a 2003 First Team All-American for the Blue and Gold.

Following his collegiate career, Moten signed with the Rio Grande Valley Dorados of the af2 in 2004, recording 47.5 tackles, two forced fumbles, 10 interceptions and 18 pass breakups on his way to a First Team All-af2 honor.

Moten would go on to play for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League from 2005-08, helping the team to a victory in ArenaBowl XXII over the San Jose SaberCats. During his time in the AFL, Moten was a two-time First Team All-Arena selection in 2006 and 2007 to go with his second team honors in 2008.

Moten’s time in the Arena Football League also included stops with the Dallas Vigilantes, San Jose SaberCats, Orlando Predators, New Orleans VooDoo and the Las Vegas Outlaws. He completed his time in the AFL with 555 tackles, 129 pass breakups, 56 interceptions, nine touchdowns, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.
