Brad Wilson brings a wealth of offensive knowledge to Javelina football from the NCAA Division I, III, and JUCO levels. He comes to Kingsville after being an offensive analyst for Louisiana Tech in 2024.

In one year at Louisiana Tech, Wilson went to the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl while helping with the game and practice planning, scouting, and recruiting visits on campus. He also had a hand in helping Evan Bullock become one of the best freshmen in Conference USA making the All-Freshman team. Bullock threw for 1,932 yards, had a 67 percent completion percentage (1st in CUSA), 14 touchdowns, and two interceptions.Â

From 2020 through 2023, Wilson helped three NCAA Divison III programs grown their offensive strategies as offensive coordinator at Howard Payne University, Sul Ross State, and East Texas Baptist University. The 2023 season was one of the finest for Howard Payne as they finished first in the American Southwest Conference and 25th in NCAA Division III in total offense with 4,591 yards. They also led the ASC in yards per game (459.1), total passing offense (3,799), passing touchdowns (33), total touchdowns (45), and first downs (229). The total passing offense of 3,799 yards was second in the nation.

He coached the ASC Offensive Player of the Year in Landon Mckinney while his offense set HPU records for most points scored in a game of the modern era with 85 vs. Lyon College along with the ASC margin of victory, 85-0. In that game, Tucker Bridwell broke the program’s single game record for completion percentage (87.9). A third record broken that season was passing attempts (464) and completions (292).Â

Brad Wilson came to Howard Payne in January 2023 from Sul Ross State University, where he served as the Lobos assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the 2022 season.

In 2022, Wilson was the offensive coordinator for Sul Ross State where his offense was among the tops in the American Southwest Conference ranking first or second in six different categories. During conference play, the Lobos finished first in passing yards (2,716), passing yards per game (339.5), and first downs (25.1 per game).

While at Sul Ross State, his offenses broke or tied five school records and he had three players named ASC Offensive Player of the Week in the 2022 season.

Before SRSU, Coach Wilson served as the offensive coordinator at East Texas Baptist University for two seasons (2020-2021) with one coming in spring 2021 (CoVID season). There, he led the second-best passing offense in the ASC at 267.8 yards per. The spring 2021 season had seven players named All-ASC and quarterback Troy Yoman being on the D3football.com Team of the Week. In five spring games, ETBU averaged 33 points per game and Yoman threw nine touchdown passes with a 139.8 passing efficiency. The fall 2021 season brought 345 yards of total offense per game and 5.3 yards per play.Â

Wilson was at Navarro College from 2017 to the spring of 2020, where he served as assistant head coach, and offensive coordinator for the Bulldogs. During that time, he coached and developed 11 NCAA Division I players and four NJCAA All-Americans. He started out as an assistant coach, moved up to the passing game coordinator in 2018 where he was named the NJCAA wide receiver coach of the year by GridironRR.com, before being promoted to the offensive coordinator in 2019. That season as the offensive coordinator, Navarro ranked #1 in the country in total offense, yards per game, and passing offense and won the SWJCFC Championship for the first time since 2012.Â

A native of Snyder, Texas, Wilson spent three seasons as a graduate and student assistant (2014-17) at Howard Payne University, working with running backs, wide receivers, and quarterbacks.

Wilson and his wife, Raven, have been married since 2014 and have six children Madelyn, Emma, Maren, who went on to be with the Lord in June 2021, Bryce, Ella and baby girl due May 2025.

He is a 2015 graduate of Howard Payne University with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a Masters of Education in Sports Leadership and Wellness in 2024.Â
