Austin Gillmore

Gillmore joined the Texas A&M University-Kingsville football staff in July 2015 as the tight ends/recievers coach after a summer of working with the Colorado State University Strength and Conditioning Football Program, primarily with the offensive line.

Coach Gillmore had the lone All-LSC First Team Offensive athlete for the Javelinas in Anthony Autry who recorded43 receptions, 831 yards, and seven touchdowns. Autry finished the 2015 season ranked third in the LSC with 83.1 yards per game. Torey Thomas made the All-LSC Second Team Offense for the tight ends with 17 receptions, 125 yards and three touchdowns. 

Prior to his strength and conditioning stint, Gillmore was the special teams coordinator, defensive backs and receivers coach at West Texas High School in Stinnett, Texas during the 2014-15 school year. He also taught keyboarding and physical education while assisting with basketball, baseball and track. 

Gillmore spent the 2013 season as a linebackers coach at Adams State University with current Javelina offensive line coach Phil Serchia.

A former linebacker, fullback and tight end for the Division I Colorado State Rams, Gillmore player alongside multiple NFL draft players, including his brother Crockett Gillmore (Ravens), Weston Richburg (Giants), Ty Sambrailo (Broncos), Garrett Grayson (Saints) and many other free-agent players with NFL experience.

A product of Bushland (Texas) High School, he lettered in football, basketball and track and field. 

Gillmore graduated from Colorado State University in 2013 with a degree in liberal arts and a minor in history. He will pursue a master’s in educational administration at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
