Women's Volleyball Team of the Decade

1.
Madison Brabham

The title of best player of the decade for Javelina volleyball goes to the first member of the program to be named a First-Team All-American. Madison Brabham had already earned a first-team All-Lone Star Conference nod as a junior before putting together a remarkable senior season in 2018. She led the nation in triple-doubles with 15, topped the LSC by averaging 3.68 kills per set and joined TAMUK’s 1,000 kill club, finishing 6th all-time with 1,184 smashes. Her list of accolades also included the 2018 LSC Player of the Year award, a pair of first-team all-region selections and the fourth-highest single-season kill total by a Javelina. By the time her career was over, she’d also moved in the school’s top 10 in total blocks, where she sits in fifth, and sets played, finishing fourth.

2.
Lexi Wick

In two years on the court for the Javelinas, Lexi Wick made her presence felt throughout the Lone Star Conference. She was a first-team all-league pick in both seasons and, in 2016, became the first Javelina to ever earn All-American status, when she received an honorable mention nod. The LSC also honored her as the conference’s newcomer of the year in 2016. That same season, Wick helped her team make the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever, finishing in the top 20 in the nation in both hitting percentage and total blocks. After another outstanding showing in 2017, Wick left as TAMUK’s all-time leader in hitting percentage and with spots in the top 10 in more than half-a-dozen other statistics.

3.
Krystal Faison

Another integral part of TAMUK’s 2016 NCAA Tournament team was Krystal Faison. That season was one of three straight in which Faison was named to the All-LSC first-team, making her the only Javelina to ever be chosen for that honor three consecutive times. Faison finished in the conference’s top 10 in aces in each of her four seasons and the 173 she ended her career with are the most in program history. She also totaled well over 1,000 kills and digs her career. Faison’s 1,439 kills stand as the second-most ever by a Javelina and her 1,765 scoops are the third-most.

4.
Kelsey Washington

Kelsey Washington was the first Javelina volleyball player to ever be chosen as an All-LSC performer four times, an accomplishment that included landing on the conference’s first-team in 2013 and 2014. She’s among TAMUK’s all-time leaders in kills and total points, where she’s in top five in the school record book.

5.
Casey Klobedans

Casey Klobedans made sure to put her name at or near the top of the Javelina leaderboard in just about every assist category. She finished her career with over 2,000 more assists than any other player to ever don the Blue and Gold, while collecting four all-conference selections, including a first-team spot in 2015.

6.
Nicole Murff

Its taken just two seasons for Murff to garner a spot on this list, but during that time, she’s put herself in elite company. She already owns the Javelinas’ best rate of digs per set at 5.12 and is in 10th-place in total digs at 1,158. If Murff keeps up this pace, she’ll eventually own the honor of TAMUK’s all-time digs lead. For her efforts, she was an All-LSC first-team member in 2019.

7.
Haley Hutchinson

Very few players own the top spot in the Javelina record book in as many categories as Haley Hutchinson. Her career totals of 487 total blocks and 409 block assist are both all-time records at TAMUK, as are her 513 sets played. Hutchinson was chosen to the All-LSC second-team in 2018.

8.      Stephanie Johns

Spots in TAMUK’s top five all-time in total blocks, block assists and solo blocks all belong to Stephanie Johns, whose talent also made her a productive offensive player to tune of 845 career kills. For her efforts, she was an All-LSC second-team player in 2014.

9.
Ashley Bukowski

Another player who attained all-conference second-team status in her career, Bukowski picked up the honor in 2014 as well. She is another member of the school’s 1,000 kill club, racking up 1,023 smashes, a number that puts her ninth all-time.

10.
Sarah Fountain

Fountain owns the program’s fifth-best average of assists per set in a career, with an average of 7.98, and she also sits in seventh-place in total assists. Her 61 helpers against Southwest Baptist on Sept. 8th, 2012 are tied for the third-most in a single match by a Javelina.
