Biography

2012: Kelsey Washington earned all-Lone Star Conference Second Team honors for the second year in a row along with teammate Dedra Brown... She finished her sophomore season with the Javelinas improving her career stats greatly... She tripled the amount of assists (24) compared to her freshman year, only eight... Washington also drastically improved her number of digs... She had 357 digs this season compared to just 61 last season... Washington recorded nine double-doubles in kills and digs, the most by a Javelina this season.

2011: Washington earned all-Lone Star Conference Second Team honors as a true freshman. She finished ninth in the LSC with 3.09 kills per set while posting a .237 attack. She reached double figures in kills in 22 of 30 matches and was one of two players on the team to play in all 112 sets. She struggled against Abilene Christian, but had a .262 attack against everyone else. She had 23 kills and four blocks in a five set win over Incarnate Word clinching an LSC Tournament spot. She had 20 kills and five digs in a win over Midwestern State. She posted a .625 attack in a win at Huston-Tillotson. She finished the year with 56 blocks and had at least one block in 28-of-30 matches.

High School: Washington played at Cuero High School. She was a two-time District 28-3A Most Valuable Player and was named to the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association Class 3A All-State and Second Team Texas Sports Writers Association Class 3A. As a senior, she had 598 kills, 305 digs and 53 blocks. She led Cuero to its first ever District 28-3A championship in 2009 and Area championships in 2008 and 2010. She earned the Victoria Advocate Most Outstanding Hitter award in 2009 and the Victoria Advocate All-Area Most Valuable Player award in 2010.

Personal: Washington is the daughter of James and Sabrina Washington and plans to study Kinesiology.
