2017-18: Started every game except one...Finished the season as TAMUK's leading scorer, averaging 11.2 points per game...Also led the squad in total rebounds, field goal makes and attempts, three-point makes and attempts and minutes per game...Reached 20 points four times, including a season-high 26 points against Tarleton State on Jan. 6th...Registered a pair of double-doubles, first with 13 points and 10 rebounds against Cameron on Dec. 7th...Repeated the feat on Feb. 3rd with 13 points and 11 boards at Cameron...Helped lead the Javelinas to an overtime upset of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Nov. 2nd with 23 points including a game-tying three-pointer with five seconds to play.

2016-17: Sumpter was tabbed to the South Central All-Tournament team where in two games he averaged 17.5 points per game on 61 percent shooting, including a .555 clip from downtown and shot a solid .888 from the free throw line...started in 30 of the 31 total games for the Javelinas and averaged a team high 26.2 minutes per game...Sumpter was second on the team with a 11.2 scoring average with the bulk of his points coming from behind-the-arc where he shot a .385 clip...overall, he shot 43 percent from the floor and 79 percent at the free throw line...Averaged a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game and accounted for 32 steals, 22 assists, and 12 blocks...had a stretch of eight games where he scored 12 or more points...set a career-high of 29 points in a single game at St. Mary's when he shot 6-of-10 from three-point range... 

2015-16: Appeared in all 26 games with 7 starts…averaged 5.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, 0.6 steals in 18.3 minutes per game…Added 9 blocks on the season…Made 19 three-pointers on the season..Had a career high 14 points against Commerce (Feb.10) making 4 of 5 from the tree-point line and 2 of 2 from the charity line in only 17 minutes…Had a career high of 15 rebounds against Thomas (Dec.20)

2014-15: Appeared in 25 games as a key reserve… averaged 2.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.4 steals in 11.9 minutes per game… made six-of-15 from three-point range… pulled down seven rebounds and added two swats in win versus Eastern New Mexico (Feb. 4)… scored 8 points versus No. 8/7 Angelo State (Jan. 31)… went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe in the loss to the Rams.
 
High School: Attended Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas… led Eagles to Hill Tournament and District championships… averaged 15.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.
