Kingsville - Texas A&M University Kingsville is heading into the 2026-27 Women's Golf season with new Graduate Assistant Coach Alejandra Escobar.

"What stood out to me about TAMUK was the people and the support I felt throughout the process," Escobar said. "Coach Troy took the time to talk with me, get to know my story, and understand my goals, and that really meant a lot to me. Going through a transition in my golf career, I wanted to be somewhere where I could continue growing, learn from great people, and use my experiences as a student-athlete to help others. I felt like TAMUK was the right place for me to start this new chapter and continue being part of the sport that has given me so much."

A native of Guayaquil, Ecuador, Escobar joins the Javelina coaching staff from Lubbock Christian University, where she spent the last two seasons competing for the Lady Chaps. She was a member of the LCU women's golf team that advanced to the NCAA Regional Championship for the first time in program history. Escobar also graduated from LCU with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Science.

Previously to LCU, she also attended Tyler Junior College, where she was a two-time NJCAA National Championship participant. As well as graduating with her Associate of Science. Escobar has represented Team Ecuador in international amateur golf competitions. Competed in Copa Andes, one of the most prestigious amateur golf tournaments in Latin America. As well as participated in multiple national and international amateur tournaments.

"I feel very grateful and excited to be a part of Javelina Nation," said Escobar. "Golf has been a huge part of my life, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to stay involved in the sport in a new role as a Graduate Assistant Coach. I'm excited to build relationships with the team, learn from Coach Troy and the staff, and do everything I can to support the women's golf program. I'm looking forward to this new chapter and being part of the Javelina community."
