Ella Srubar became the first Javelina in school history to win the Lone Star Conference's Freshman of the Week award.
Srubar posted a .636 on-base percentage across her three starts for Kingsville last week, which included a pair of starts at third base against SRS, the first such starts of her collegiate career. She hit 4-of-8 with three walks, six RBI, and three deep balls, bringing her home-run season total to four. No other Javelina since its introduction ahead of the 2025 season has brought home the award.
Four different Javelinas have now brought home an LSC weekly award, as Srubar joins sophomore OF
Lainee Balling (Hitter of the Week), senior RHP
Andrea Martinez (Pitcher of the Week), and junior 1B
Dakota Martinez (Hitter of the Week x 2). TAMUK has now won 11 straight games, the eighth longest winning streak in program history and the longest active one in the LSC.
The red-hot Hogs will be returning home for a pair of LSC doubleheaders this weekend as they face off with St. Edward's (Friday, 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.), and St. Mary's (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.).
