Kingsville - The senior right side hitter duo of
Rylan Pollard and
Kendall Harrington each brought home a Lone Star Conference award this week courtesy of stellar statistical performances at the Third Annual Javelina Volleyball Classic this past weekend.
Harrington won the LSC's Offensive Player of the Week award, the first such award of her career. She has been red hot to start the season, and averaged an uber-efficient .400 attack percentage across the Javelinas' four match wins this weekend, while posting 3.47 kills/s and adding eight total digs and four total blocks. Included in her excellent weekend of play was a five-set win over Southern Arkansas that saw her put up a Javelina career high 18 kills, three digs, an assist, and a block.
Pollard, who plays both RS and setter, averaged 2.80 k/s on .283 atk, while also adding 5.60 assists/s on her way to the second LSC Setter of the Week award of her career and the first since 2023. Along the way, she dropped two triple doubles, the second and third of her season and the fifth and sixth of her career. She put up 11 kills, 27 assists, and a career-high 25 digs as well as a pair of service aces in TAMUK's win over SAU, before notching 10 kills, 21 assists, 10 digs, and another two aces in the team's sweep of Southeastern Oklahoma State.
Pollard, Harrington, and the rest of the Javelinas will be back in the SPEC this weekend for a pair of home matches as they compete in the LSC Challenge, which will see TAMUK take on Texas A&M-International at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday before facing Midwestern State at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
