Javelinas fall to #14 Texas Women’s 64-54

TAMUK drops first game of road trip to Pioneers

DENTON, Texas- The Texas A&M-Kingsville Women's Basketball Team faced off Thursday in Denton, Texas where they fell to the Texas Woman's Pioneers 54-64.

"I'm proud of how we played tonight." said coach Michael Madrid. "TWU is an extremely well coached team with talented players and we didn't defend Ingram like we hoped. 27 fouls led to them shooting 33 free throws and we committed 26 turnovers. Hard to beat anyone when you spend a majority of your time beating yourself. We will learn from this and be ready for our next opportunity".

Sophomore Aina Maynou was the bright spot for the Javelinas with 11 points 1 rebounds and 1 Assist on the Evening.

TAMUK outshot their opponent in multiple categories on the afternoon as they ended the game with a FG% of 42.9% as opposed to the Pioneers 36.0%.
