Javelinas add Brooke Lechleitner to WBB roster

Lechleitner joins Javelinas as Division I transfer signee

KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball program has added one of its last pieces ahead of the 2023-24 season with the signing of transfer Brooke Lechleitner from Central Connecticut State.

A native of Holcombe, Wisconsin, Lechleitner was a standout recording 1,319 career points in high school while being a finalist for the Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11 guard/forward was also named to the Chippewa Valley All Area-First Team and Rusk County All Area-First Team all four years she competed. In her senior season, Lechleitner led all of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association in blocks per game.

"We are excited to welcome Brooke and her family to the Blue and Gold," said head coach Michael Madrid on the new signing. "Her versatility will be noticed in multiple ways on both ends of the floor. She has experience at the collegiate level and will provide depth and competition to our program immediately. We look forward to watching her growth on and off the floor."

Lechleitner joins the Javelinas after spending her freshman year with the Blue Devils last season where she appeared in nine games.
