KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team is back at the Steinke Physical Education Center to take on the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs. This weekend begins the final weekend of the regular season before teams start falling into place for the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
The Javelinas (18-8, 10-4 LSC) are heading into Friday's match after dropping the match three sets to one, to the St. Mary's Rattlers last time out. Neither team hit to their potential as the Javelinas had a .117 hitting percentage and the Rattlers a .208.
West Texas (24-2, 13-1 LSC) comes into Friday off of a three sets to none sweep against the Western New Mexico Mustangs. They hit .346 in the match and had nine total blocks on the evening, while the Mustangs hit a .038 with 2 blocks on the night.
The Javelinas and Rattlers have met 25 total times, where the Javs hold a 6-19 all-time record. The last time these squads met was earlier in the 2022 season where the Javelinas traveled to Canyon, TX dropping the match three sets to one.
