KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team ended their two-game road trip Saturday where they took down the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico in four sets (25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 25-23).
The Javelinas (14-6, 6-2 LSC) came into Saturday on a three-game streak sweeping the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps three sets to none a night prior.
The Javelinas battled it out with the Greyhounds hitting a .291 with six blocks on the day, as the Greyhounds hit a .229 with 11 blocks on the day. The Javelinas had three players in double digit kills on the afternoon Senior outside hitter

Ayanna Jackson with 17, and Sophomore right side hitter
Rylan Pollard with 14. This led to 63 total kills on the afternoon for the Javelinas, as well as five service aces to their credit.
Set one began with the Javelinas rattling off five straight featuring an
Isabel Neu ace forcing a Greyhound timeout at 5-0. The set continued as the Greyhounds were able to get some points on the board before another 5-0 Javelina run, this time featuring an ace from
Meghan Stiefer. It looked to be all Javelinas until ENMU battled back with a 10-5 run, but the Javelinas too far ahead for the Greyhounds as they took set one 25-18.
In set two, both squads kept it close early with the only separation being a 3-0 run putting the set at 8-5 TAMUK. The Javelinas were leading 11-7 before the Greyhounds went on a 3-0 run of their own, closing the gap to 11-10. The set looked to be done as the Javelinas led 20-14 until the Greyhounds closed it to a 23-20 set. The Javelinas took a timeout to reset and ultimately took set two 25-21.
The third set saw the Javelinas take a 4-1 lead until the Greyhounds went on a 7-0 run putting the set at 8-4 ENMU. The Javelinas were trailing until
Jeri Ficklen kicked off a 4-0 run bringing TAMUK within one 11-10. From that point on the set was a back-and-forth battle having four lead changes and eight ties. The Javelinas tied it up at 24 all before the Greyhounds rattled off two taking set three.
In set four the Greyhounds took an early lead using the momentum gained from the set prior 4-1. The Javelinas battled back to tie it at four a piece before the greyhounds once again gained some distance 7-11.

Next time out the Javelinas will be playing a weekday road match taking on the St. Edwards Hilltoppers on Wednesday October 25
th at the St. Edwards Recreation and Athletic Center in Austin, Texas.
