KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team heads to Portales, New Mexico where they will finish up their two game road trip out west.
The Javelinas (13-6, 5-2 LSC) are going into Saturday's match a night removed from a three sets to none sweep of the Lubbock Christian Lady Chaps. The Blue and Gold now trying to keep the streak alive as they head out further west to take on the Greyhounds.
The Javelinas had a great night all around hitting a .330 and having two players reach double digit kills. Senior outside hitter
Jackie Alanis one of those standouts as she had 10 kills with a .250 hitting percentage as well as Junior middle blocker
Ayanna Jackson who had 13 kills and a .458 hitting percentage. Jackson also responsible for six of the nine total blocks on the night that limited the Lady Chap offense to a .179 hitting percentage.
Eastern New Mexico (8-16, 0-11 LSC) comes into Saturday after a three sets to none loss at the hands of the Texas A&M-International Dustdevils where they hit .115 as a team and had 10 blocks on the night.
The Javelinas and Greyhounds have met 24 total times, where the Javs hold a 16-8 all-time record. The last time these squads met in 2022 was a three sets to none home victory for the Javelinas.
