KINGSVILLE, Texas – Junior Jory Cervantes (Pflugerville, Texas) drove in three runs, scored five times and stole four bases as the No. 15 Texas A&M-Kingsville softball team overpowered the Western New Mexico Mustangs in a doubleheader, winning the opener 12-0 and the second game 14-0 on Sunday afternoon in Lone Star Conference action at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field in Kingsville, Texas.

GAME ONE
The Javs got on the board in the first inning of game one by loading the bases with one out and a pair of bases-loaded walks forced in the first two runs. Sophomore Natalie Rodriguez (Edinburg, Texas) drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to make the score 3-0.
Three more Blue and Gold runs came home in the third, when a pair of one-out singles brought sophomore Kayla Gonzales (San Antonio, Texas) and she rocketed a three-run homer over the wall in center to double her team's advantage.
Cervantes started a Javelina rally in the fourth by singling, stealing second and scoring on an error. After the Javelinas loaded the bases, senior Kaylee Dietrich (Phoenix, Ariz.) lined a two-run safety into left and another WNMU error led to TAMUK's 10th run of the game coming across. A bases-loaded hit batter and a Jackie De Los Santos (Kingsville, Texas) sacrifice fly concluded the scoring.
Keeping the Mustang lineup silent was sophomore Beth Montes (San Antonio, Texas). She conceded only two hits and walked just one across four innings while tallying eight strikeouts. Junior Saidi Castillo (Kingville, Texas) recorded the final three outs.
