D2SIDA REGIONAL POLLS
The Javelinas continued their torrid pace to start the Lone Star Conference schedule after turning in a 60-47 win over Western New Mexico to improve to 3-0 in league play. It is the first 3-0 start to the conference schedule since the 2006-07 season.
Back atop the poll is Lubbock Christian with four first-place votes after the Lady Chaps defeated UAFS this past week. In the second slot is A&M-Commerce as the Lions suffered their first loss of the season in a matchup against West Texas A&M. Rounding out the top five are a trio of RMAC schools in Colorado Mines, Colorado Mesa and CSU-Pueblo.
Texas Woman's and Texas A&M International sit sixth and seventh, respectively, as the last two teams ahead of the Blue and Gold. Rounding out the poll are the Lady Buffs in ninth and Westminster in 10th, while UT Tyler and Cameron both received votes.
TAMUK faces TAMIU in a home-and-home this week starting Thursday, January 13. The Javelinas face the Dustdevils in Laredo, Texas, beginning at 5:30 p.m. that evening in a non-conference matchup before returning to the Steinke Physical Education Center on Saturday, January 15, for the league rematch beginning at 2 p.m.
