CANYON, Texas (Baseball) – No. 10/14 Texas A&M University-Kingsville (11-1) suffered its first loss of the season Friday at Wilder Park as No. 15/21 West Texas A&M University (13-2) defeated the Javelinas 8-0.
Jimmy Roche went 3-for-4 in the series opener and
Shane McCarley tossed 4.2 innings in relief.
Levi Zents reached base safely three times (base on balls).

Preston Plovanich (1-1) was hit with his first loss of the season after allowing five runs – three earned – in 1.1 innings. Marshall Kasowski (4-1) picked up the victory with 10 strikeouts and got himself out of the trouble as the disciplined Hogs tallied six walks. Justin McAllister was credited with his second save of the season in 3.0 innings.
