COMMERCE, Texas – Texas A&M University-Kingsville's (17-10, 9-6 LSC) came up short against Texas A&M University-Commerce (16-9, 11-4 LSC) on Saturday afternoon at the Field House.
The Lions remain unbeaten at home, after an early scare from the Javelinas. Both teams split the first two frames by the score of 25-23 before A&M-Commerce won the next two sets 25-18 and 25-17.
Krystal Faison got her second double-double in as many days with 12 kills and 12 digs and also gathered two blocks and one ace in the match.
Madison Brabham was next with 11 kills and
Lexi Wick followed with nine kills, one ace, and a team-best five total blocks.
Casey Klobedans almost had her second consecutive double-double with 32 assists, eight digs, and had two kills and two blocks.
Courtney Rabius finished with 18 digs to lead the Javelinas and
Jasmine Jacinto followed with 16 digs.
Layne Little led the Lions with 18 kills and was followed by Neka Nelson's 13 kills. Shelley Chapron flirted with a double-double after logging eight kills and a match-high eight blocks.
Texas A&M-Kingsville will have two rest days before heading to San Angelo, Texas to challenge No. 21 Angelo State Rambelles at the Junel Center on Halloween.
