KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) – Victoria Schoonard-Saborio increases her reached base streak to 18 after hitting a double and triple in games one and two, respectively, on Friday, March 18 but Texas A&M University-Kingsville (10-19) fell to Lubbock Christian University (28-7), 9-1 in game one and 8-0 in game two.
Both games were five inning contests at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field.
Game OneSchoonard-Saborio went 1-for-2 with an RBI double,
Karri Smith went 2-for-2 at the plate and
Lauren Oatman and
Myrissa Sanchez recorded hits in game one.
Smith fell to 3-6 on the year while Katera Eltsosie improved to 15-3 for the Lady Chaps.
The Blue and Gold struck first on Schoonard-Saborio's double to right center field that plated Oatman to give the Javelinas a 1-0 lead.
However, Lubbock Christian responded with two runs in the top of the second and extended its lead to take game one, 9-1, in five innings.
Game TwoSchoonard-Saborio, Sanchez,
Rachael Longoria and
Alexei Gonzalez reached base safely with base hits in game two. The Lady Chaps scored six runs in the first two innings and took the second game of Friday's doubleheader, 8-0.

Kaitlyn Holmes (11-2) earned the victory in the complete game shutout and
Carlie Clark (4-6) was charged with the loss after an inning of work.
