KINGSVILLE, Texas (Women's Basketball) – TaSheena Moore led Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-15, 0-10 LSC) with 10 points in Saturday evening's 62-41 loss to No. 6/6 West Texas A&M University (20-2, 9-2 LSC) at the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
Moore's 10 points marked the sixth time the Division I transfer reached double figures this season. The Lady Buffs shot 54.5 percent from the field, led by Michaels Neuhaus' 14 points and seven assists.
Kaylin Roher recorded eight points and
Kyra Bauer finished with five points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
West Texas A&M led 12-8 through the opening period and went into the half with a 29-18 edge. Matching its second period, WT outscored the Hogs 17-10 in the third before narrowly outscoring the Javelinas in the fourth 16-13 to sweep the regular season series. The Javelinas kept it close in the first and fourth periods against one of the nation's top teams and the Lone Star Conference preseason favorite.
The Javelinas continue its homestand hosting A&M-Commerce Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for IBC Bank Pack the House.
