PORTALES, N.M. (Women's Basketball) – Treka Franklin came off the bench to provide five points, four assists, three rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in Texas A&M University-Kingsville's (5-14, 0-9 LSC) 67-42 loss to Eastern New Mexico (8-11, 3-6 LSC) Wednesday evening at the Greyhound Arena.
TaSheena Moore led the Javelinas in scoring with eight and
Kaylee Kana finished with six points and eight rebounds, five offensive.
Both teams traded points in the opening period with the game knotted up at 19-all after the first 10 minutes. The Greyhounds were able to outscore the Hogs 18-5 in the second to head into the half with a double-digit lead. The second half was closer but the deficit was too much to overcome for Texas A&M-Kingsville as Eastern's Kassandra Harris poured in 20 points on 7-12 shooting.
The Javelinas held the Greyhounds to 35 percent shooting and return to home to host West Texas A&M University Saturday, Feb. 6.
