KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) –Â
Texas A&M University-Kingsville (6-9, 0-4 LSC) fell to Angelo State University (15-4, 4-0 LSC), 6-1 and 9-1, Saturday afternoon at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field as the series versus the Rambelles came to a close.Â
Game OneHaley Boyett went 1-for-2 from the leadoff spot and
Roxy Chapa added a single in the 6-1 game one loss. Angelo State tallied 11 hits and Brandi Marlett improved to 6-2 with a complete game, punching out five and allowing two hits and four walks.
Michaela Huebotter (1-1) fell to 1-1 on the year despite tossing 6.0 innings.
Sarah Gilbert threw a perfect seventh frame.

Game TwoBoyett finished with a base hit in the second game, Chapa collected a double and
Rachael Longoria drove in the run for Texas A&M-Kingsville as the Javelinas fell to Angelo State, 9-1, in five innings.

The Belles were able to put five runs on the scoreboard in the opening frame and scored three more in the third to take an 8-0 lead. Kingsville scored a run in the third but the Rambelles added a run in the fifth to sweep the series.

Carlie Clark (2-3) fell after starting the game for the Javelinas and Kenedy Urbany improved to 8-2 on the year with 4.0 innings of one-run ball.

The Javelinas continue Lone Star Conference play next week at #RV Texas A&M University-Commerce.
