KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) – The winning streak increased to seven as Texas A&M University-Kingsville (7-3) earned two victories Saturday afternoon at Nolan Ryan Field, defeating St. Mary's University (8-8), 8-7 in game one and 8-6 in game two. With the victories, the Javelinas swept the regular season series versus the Rattlers.

The Hogs collected 13 hits in the extra-inning victory in game one and
Ruben Almaguer drove in two in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.

Game OneDalton Perry went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in game one and
Hayden Vesely and
Zach Smith solo shots in the first and second innings, respectively, but the Rattlers rallied from behind, scoring four runs in the seventh to force extras. Vesely's single to right field in the eighth allowed the Hogs to walk off in style and take game one, 8-7.

Vesely finished 2-for-4 at the dish with two ribbies,
Jimmy Roche was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored and
Wesley Aguilar went 2-for-2 from the plate.
Sebi Palacios picked up a no-decision after tossing 6.0 innings.
Shane Veeder (3-1) earned the victory after a scoreless eighth.

Vesely's solo shot in the first gave the Hogs a 1-0 lead and after StMU tied the game at 1-1, Smith's solo blast gave Texas A&M-Kingsville a 2-1 lead. Perry led off the third with a double and came around to score on Almaguer's single to make it a two-run lead. St. Mary's scored two runs in the fourth to knot the game up at 3-3, but Perry's leadoff homer in the fifth allowed TAMUK to regain the lead, 4-3.

Brayton Carlson drove a run in the fifth to add a run for a two-run cushion. TAMUK scored two more in the sixth to make it a four-run game. St. Mary's scored four in the top of the seventh before Vesely's single in the eighth gave the Hogs an 8-7 win in game one.

Game TwoAlmaguer and
Pablo Hernandez scored two runs apiece in the 8-6 victory in game two and Vesely (1-0) earned his first win of the season after punching out five in 4.1 innings.
Kyle Black was credited with the save after a perfect seventh and Cole Hybner (2-1) was hit with the loss after allowing six runs, three earned, in 2.0 innings.

St. Mary's scored a run in the first but the Javelinas answered back with two runs in the second, one on Hernandez's RBI double to take a 2-1 lead. Texas A&M-Kingsville put a crooked number up on the scoreboard in the third, scoring four runs on two hits for a 6-1 lead that was cut to 6-4 after the Rattlers scored three in the fifth.

Smith, who singled up the middle and stole second to put himself into scoring position, came around to score on
Christian Caudle's RBI double in the fifth. St. Mary's cut its deficit with two runs in the sixth and the Javelinas scored a run in the sixth to take game two and the series, 8-6. The victory sealed the three-game sweep in the home-and-home series.

The Hogs open up Lone Star Conference play next week with a four-game series at home versus Cameron University. The Aggies are ranked nationally and are undefeated in 2016.
