STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-17, 0-12 LSC) rallied back from a double-digit deficit to make it a six-point ballgame but the Javelinas fell to Tarleton State University (14-9, 8-5 LSC) 61-53 Saturday evening at Wisdom Gym.

Down 17 with 8:43 remaining in the game, the Javelinas went on a 10-2 run to cut their deficit to nine with 4:32 left to play.
Jamesha Wade and
Kaylee Kana each finished with 11 points and five rebounds.
Treka Franklin recorded three steals and
Kyra Bauer and Kana added two steals.

The Javelinas trailed 30-14 after the first half, but turned the table in the second half, outscoring the TexAnns in the third and fourth periods. However, TAMUK could not overcome its slow start despite closing the gap to single digits.

Bailey Wipff led all scorers with 19 points on 8-11 shooting.

The Javelinas return to the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court Wednesday and Thursday to host Midwestern State University Feb. 17 and Texas Woman's University Feb. 18.
