KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) –
Roxy Chapa's home run was the exclamation point to an offensive onslaught by the Javelinas as Texas A&M University-Kingsville improved to 3-2 with an 11-1 victory over Black Hills State University (0-3) Saturday afternoon at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field. The Javelinas took the season series versus the Yellow Jackets after winning yesterday afternoon, 3-2, in walk-off fashion and took today's game in a run-ruled shortened contest.

Chapa finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, both coming on a home run. Haley Boyett and Ariana Munoz went 2-for-3 with two runs, Lindsey Angelico went 1-for-3 with two RBI, Victoria Schoonard-Saborio finished 2-for-4 with two RBI at the dish, Lauren Oatman finished 2-for-3 with a run and Delila Gillespie scored two runs from the nine hole.

Carlie Clark (2-1) improved to 2-1 on the year with seven strikeouts in 5.0 innings. Stefanie Witman (0-2) was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs – five earned – in 1.2 innings.

Texas A&M-Kingsville scored two runs in the first and after the Yellow Jackets cut their deficit to 2-1, the Javelinas put a four-spot on the scoreboard in the second to take a 6-2 lead. TAMUK continued to score at will, adding three runs in the third and two in the fourth to take its lone game Saturday.

The Javelinas have two games tomorrow – Texas A&M International University at 10:30 a.m. and St. Edward's University at 3:30 p.m.
